Pamela Stratigakis is an experienced trial attorney with a strong commitment to fairness, equality and public service. She has over sixteen years experience with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where she handled hundreds of cases and dozens of jury trials. Through these professional experiences, Pam learned firsthand the tremendous impact the judiciary can have on justice and our daily lives.
Pam was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago to a Greek immigrant father and Polish American mother who worked hard to give their children a better life and opportunities they never had. She understands the challenges that they, like so many of us, face in our daily lives. Pam attended Socrates School, where she received a bilingual grammar school education and graduated from Mother Theodore Guerin High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University School of Law.
During her time as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Pam worked in the Felony Trial Division, Narcotics Division, Special Litigation Unit, Post-Conviction Unit, and the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division. She handled a vast array of cases, including homicides, hate crimes, sexual assaults and other serious felonies.
As a First Chair and Felony Trial Specialist in the Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Division, Pam was known for her dedication and working tirelessly to promote safety in our community and protect its citizens including it’s most vulnerable ones, children and women who are victims of sexual abuse and violence.
Pam believes strongly in giving back to the community she serves and uses her extensive courtroom experience to educate and train others on internet safety as well as violence prevention and awareness. This includes presenting to advisory groups, schools, universities as well as to parents and children in her community. Pam has also presented at national conferences on these issues including the “International Ending Violence Against Women Conference,” and the “National Internet Crimes Against Children Conference.”
Pam is a member of the Women’s Bar Association, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, Hellenic Bar Association and a member of the Board on the North Suburban Bar Association. Pam is also a part of the Hellenic American Leadership Council and Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
Having worked in private practice at the law firm Hupert Richards and Wood before her years at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Pamela’s impeccable background in the practice of law includes experience in both criminal and civil law. Most recently, Pam proudly joined the firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith as a Partner. Pam’s strong commitment to fairness, equality and integrity has been unwavering throughout her career and she hopes to continue her commitment to those same values as a Cook County Circuit Court Judge.
